Luis M. Leal Engineering is a firm that was established in Puerto Rico in 1996 under the name of Leal and Associates by Mr. Leal, PE with the vision to provide quality and affordable structural engineering services to the government and private sector.
During the construction boom in Puerto Rico Leal and Associates was commissioned to design the structural envelopes for the following commercial properties Walmart, PepBoy/s , Walgreens, Costco, Amigo Supermarkets and Caribbean Cinemas.
Leal and Associates was contracted under retainer by Ica Construccion Urbana, SA a structural engineering consultant for the Puerto Rico Coliseum and two stations of the Puerto Rico mass transportation system locally known as Tren Urbano. All major structural steel connections for the roof of the Puerto Rico Coliseum, that seats 18500 visitors, were designed by Leal and Associates as well as all the structural steel shop drawings and scaffolding designs.
During the course of more than a decade Leal and Associates in collaboration with local architects produced high quality homes for private clients as well as model homes for developers of gated communities.
Leal and Associates designed the sports complex for the Municipality of Comerio including a Gymnasium, baseball stadium and a suspension bridge to reach them from the parking lot.
